The EV-C connection system introduced in 2019 has been further developed by Huber und Suhner and now offers the RADOX EV-C 2 maximum reliability and improved protection against vibrations. Thanks to a pre-coated thread, it ensures greater tightness and increased mechanical resistance. The system also reduces installation time on the vehicle and offers an improved sealing concept as well as a shorter thread for applications with thin walls. The materials of the EV-C 2 have been specially selected to meet the requirements of the RoHS 3 Directive (EU 2015/863) on the restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

Developments in the field of electric vehicles mean that heavy-duty vehicles such as e-buses and e-trucks are increasingly being integrated into everyday life. However, the high-voltage connections in e-vehicles are often exposed to high mechanical loads, which can affect the reliability of the entire high-voltage system - especially under extreme operating conditions. The new RADOX EV-C 2 minimizes the risk of system failures and high-voltage hazards that can be caused by vibrations and other mechanical influences.

The RADOX EV-C 2 is the latest addition to HUBER+SUHNER's EV-C portfolio and continues to offer the proven benefits of its predecessor, such as outstanding shielding attenuation, protection against contaminants such as dirt, dust, moisture or chemicals and the prevention of cable displacement or twisting during operation. In addition, the EV-C 2 uses the proven RADOX technology, which is based on an electron beam cross-linking process for cables. The combination of this technology with the improved EV-C 2 results in an optimal connection system for high-performance applications.

With options for single-core standard and flex cables as well as multi-core cables, the system offers a wide range of configuration options for the M20, M25 and M32 interfaces used in electric vehicles. The EV-C 2 has been externally tested to the latest automotive standards and can be ordered as a high voltage cable assembly with a choice of other validated connectors. The solution is now available and in series production.
